Introduction

The endeavor to alleviate poverty in the villages of Yanchang and Tongbai exemplifies the indispensable role of academic research in informing and guiding effective development interventions. This initiative embraces a multifaceted approach, integrating direct financial support through "future + insurance" policies, educational enhancements, and a spectrum of developmental strategies informed by empirical evidence.

Building upon our foundational commitment to academic inquiry in the villages of Yanchang and Tongbai, our past research endeavors have systematically explored the efficacy of compensation mechanisms. In the specific context of Yanchang, a region known for its apple production, our scholarly efforts have extended to investigating the impact of refrigeration infrastructure such as large-capacity fridges on the preservation and storage of apples. These targeted studies have been instrumental in discerning the direct benefits of such interventions on the livelihoods of the local populace.

Looking ahead, our research trajectory is poised to incorporate a more expansive dataset that transcends the village spectrum to include county and city-level data. This scale of structural estimation aims to furnish a more granular understanding of socioeconomic dynamics, thereby refining our strategies for welfare improvement. By broadening the scope of our data collection and analysis, we aspire to not only enrich the specificity of our interventions but also enhance the precision of policy recommendations tailored to foster the welfare of villagers.
