We work to help underrepresented farmers in China understand and insure against the risks in their agriculture production process.
Since November 2022, we have mobilized 10 thousand CNY from the public to subsidize Yanchang County, Huangling County, Ordos County, etc.

Subsidize the underrepresented farmers the premiums of the financial risk management instrument “Insurances + Futures.”
To enhance the marginal farmers’ ability to insure against the risk caused by natural disasters and price fluctuation in the agricultural product market, IFU raises funds from both the public and private individuals, and directly subsidizes the farmers to help them participate in “Insurances + Futures.”
Evaluate the impacts of subsidy from “Insurances + Futures” and produce tailored allocation mechanisms for the subsidized counties.
Through qualitative and quantitative analyses, IFU attempts to identify the specific risks endured by the underrepresented farmers in different counties and produces allocation mechanisms for the subsidy tailored to different agricultural products, risks, and demographic and economic traits of the counties.

Incentivize the younger generation to study inclusive finance instruments.
To further enhance the marginal farmers’ financial literacy, specifically their awareness of their enduring risk and how they can respond to it, IFU not only provides introductory courses about finance and insurance to teenagers in the counties, but also subsidizes them to pursue further studying.
